Shaman's Death
more on alchemy
The key is to not run away.
Or distract yourself.
Or become a victim.
The key is to sit with it. All of it - all of you. All the ugly ravines of your inner shadow: your fear, your jealousy, your anger; the resentment, the belittlement, the greed and illusions of grandeur - all the identity you have tied to your shadow - sit with it. And don’t look away. Let it consume you. All the way. Until.
The image you have created of yourself is totally abolished. And the new bloom of you can begin its emergence into the world, blessed by the gods who bless people who succeed in overcoming themselves.
This kind of death is not just for shamans, this is for all of us, anyone alive, living with a consciousness to evolve, and grow into new levels of aliveness. This kind of death requires incredible courage and is an admirable accomplishment for anyone, anywhere, at any stage of life.
The key is to not become the fire, but let it consume you. All the way to ashes.
Only then can walk you naked and innocent, refreshed into a new level of life. Reborn.
