Creation Time vs. Chronos Time

Each time I light a fire - for cooking, heating water or ceremony - there’s an option to enter an old timeline.
I hear a lot of people talking about timelines, jumping timelines, merging timeless, creating new timelines, etc., but what I am talking about here is returning to deep time.
To first recognize that yes, we over here in America, over here in modernity, in the “west”, have agreed (over many generations) to shape our lives around an artificial version of time. If you are deep in that time frame, it can be harder to see. Clocks, deadlines, school and work schedules, bill pay cycles, tax cycles, gas tank cycles, the seven day week and more - these are not the true rhythm of time on this planet. These are created forms of time, systems of actual oppression that keep us chained to the system and disconnected from truer dimensions of time native to Earth and to our true potentiality as human beings.
When I light a fire in the evening to heat the water to wash the dishes - there exists a portal there, between my hands and the tinder, where a new dimension of time, a new perception to the passage of life and relation to place, is born. And I can enter that portal, or… I can look at my phone.
I can enter that portal or I can allow my mind to be stolen by the grid of modernity.
(This is the curse of our times.)
If I enter that different dimension, and can sustain for more than a few moments, I can feel a reverberation of sanctity, of deep mystery, of aliveness and otherworldliness that connects me to forests on this planet who lived thousands of years ago.
To enter that portal, I must be incredibly quiet. Humble. Invisible almost, except for the form that Creation has given me, completely softened by attunement to the presence of light and the mystery of life. If I wish to enter that portal, I must be on my knees in the dirt, hands colored with dirt and soot, eyes clear, paying attention.
And through that dimension of time, true ceremony happens.
True life happens.
And the path that was created for us by the holy being of life can be seen and the first step taken.
